Trejo Twirls 18-0 Shutout Saturday, September 8th , 2046 Brian Trejo of the Columbus Reds was on fire against the Paris Cubs at Columbus Baseball Complex today. He shut them out 18-0 on 4 hits, collecting 11 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Trejo said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that." This season Trejo has gone 15-3 with an ERA of 1.84, posting 206 strikeouts in 171 innings. |
