Phantoms Reel Off Another Win
|
Canton catcher Rocky Campbell was sensational. He went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Niagara Falls beat the Indians, 9-3. Campbell was named the player of the game despite the loss. Niagara Falls reliever Mark Berberian was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Luis Soliz took the loss for Canton. The Indians, now 44-91, have lost 6 straight.
In the top of the first, Edgar Olmeda had a big 2-run double off Luis Soliz. With the double, the Niagara Falls right fielder put his team in front, 2-0. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs in the contest.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Niagara Falls manager Dale Sveum.
