					| | Salas Stands Out in Chicago Shutout Monday, August 8th , 2050
In an impressive outing, Ricky Salas blanked the Seattle Mariners 5-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Salas, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Chicago hurler held Seattle scoreless, allowed 4 hits, chalked up 8 strikeouts and yielded 1 walk.

In 22 starts this year Salas has posted 13 wins while suffering 2 losses. He has pitched 162 innings, allowed 124 hits, struck out 140 and has a 2.72 ERA.
