Swing! Swang! Swung! Ayala Smashes 3 HR Thursday, September 8th , 2050 Three home runs usually equal a win, but not today at Kindrick Legion Field. The Helena Brewers beat the odds and also beat Juan Ayala and the Bristol Pirates, 13-11. The hot-hitting Ayala had an historic day at the plate with three home runs, 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored, but no victory. "This game is special for me. It's an individual accomplishment," he said. "As a team we didn't have a good day, but the three homers make it better." Juan Ayala grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Mamoru Okazaki in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Kurth in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Josh Bowman in the 8th. So far this year, Ayala is batting .378 with 50 home runs and 122 RBIs. |
