Spokane Blanks Minnesota (NYP) Behind Vickers Saturday, September 24th , 2050 Jim Vickers kept the Minnesota (NYP) Twins hitters from doing any damage at Avista Stadium today. Minnesota (NYP) could only muster 5 hits and take 1 walk against the right-handed Vickers, who controlled them throughout the game as Spokane took the contest, 5-0. Vickers added 14 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Vickers told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." To date this season, Vickers has a record of 4 wins and 1 loss and a 3.36 ERA. He has appeared in 19 games and struck out 77 in 61.2 innings. |
