Diaz Nabs NL Weekly Award Monday, August 29th , 2050 A battle-tested Johnny Diaz declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 36-year-old Kane County first baseman collected the National League Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .579 average, 11 hits in 19 at-bats, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. So far this year Diaz is batting .288 with 16 home runs, 57 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
