Frost Skunks Hooks Monday, September 5th , 2050 It wasn't easy but the Akron RubberDucks made it look that way. Starter Tom Frost shut out the Corpus Christi Hooks despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Akron RubberDucks cruised to victory, 9-0. Frost allowed only 6 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season Frost has compiled a 13-4 record with a 1.70 ERA in 29 starts. |
