 Bisons starting pitcher Ed Chavez has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation for a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was expected to finish treatment soon and rejoin the team slightly ahead of schedule. Doctors reevaluated him after he felt severe pain in a recent workout. The preliminary examination revealed more damage and is worse than the first injury. Anonymous sources in Buffalo told BNN Ed Chavez would be absent from the roster quite a bit longer than originally diagnosed. He would now have to miss at least 11-12 months.
 
 Ed Chavez is expected to undergo surgery in Buffalo(New York) tomorrow.
 
 In his career-to-date, the 27-year-old Chavez has fashioned a 23-24 mark, 4.14 ERA and thrown 397.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .245 lifetime against him and he has logged 361 total strikeouts.
