Gruszewski Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, September 8th , 2049 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Mike Gruszewski of the Amarillo ThunderHeads had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 14-3 win over the Palm Beach Nationals at Ballpark of Amarillo. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Mike Gruszewski singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kevin Perrell in the 8th. Thus far this season in 98 games Gruszewski is batting .233 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 70 hits in 301 at-bats. |
