Long and Alonso Fight, Get Suspended Monday, August 30th , 2049 If there wasn't a history between Dan Long of Roswell and Fidel Alonso of Amarillo, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 2 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Long said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This season Long has hit at a .240 clip with 26 RBIs, 11 home runs and 23 runs scored. So far this season Alonso has compiled a 1-3 record with a 4.60 ERA. |
