Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Friday, August 27th , 2049 If there wasn't a history between Steve Wipf of Calgary and Steffan Sellevold of Portland, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Wipf said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This year Wipf is batting .310 with 30 home runs. So far this season Sellevold has compiled a 2-2 record with a 5.00 ERA. |
