Done Deal: Haney for Troncoso Sunday, December 5th , 2049 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Pirates and Rockies have agreed to a swap. Colorado will get 20-year old minor league SS Rob Haney, 25-year old minor league RHP Robby Poyfair, 17-year old minor league 2B Brian Brewster, a 1st round draft pick, and a 2nd round draft pick with Pittsburgh receiving 24-year old LF Freddy Troncoso in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. Colorado will retain a portion of Troncoso's remaining contract. Over his career Troncoso has batted .277 and collected 483 hits, 72 home runs and 212 RBIs. |
