Cubs Come up Short of Playoffs Friday, January 15th , 2049 It won't be a season to remember for the Chicago (WIN) Cubs, as the club has officially missed out on the playoffs. The Cubs were mathematically eliminated from qualification today. "With any luck, in a couple years we will look back on the 2048 season as an important stepping stone to a title," said Chicago (WIN) reliever Pat Powell. The Cubs have made the playoffs 12 times in their 33 years as a Winter League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2042. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have only made the playoffs once. |
