Hops Prevail, as Divisional Championship Goes to the Wire Tuesday, October 19th , 2049 In an exciting Divisional Championship that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is New York-Penn League fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Hillsboro Hops, who edged the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 4-3 to advance to the Conference Championship. Hillsboro won the final game by a 7-2 count to wrap up the series. Ron Mills earned series MVP honors, by hitting .261 with a .370 on-base percentage.
