Simpson, Valdivia Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, August 4th , 2049 If there wasn't a history between David Simpson of Spokane and Mike Valdivia of Connecticut, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Simpson said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Simpson is batting at a .256 pace this season, picking up 20 hits in 78 at-bats with 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
