Beloit Held Hitless by Calderon Tuesday, April 27th , 2049 There was magic on the mound today at Veterans Memorial Stadium as Cedar Rapids Kernels starter Ruben Calderon no-hit the Beloit Snappers. Calderon held Beloit hitters spellbound and helpless in a masterful display of pitching, leading the Kernels to a 5-0 win. "It was like I was in a dream," Calderon said afterward. "The ball just went right where I wanted it to." In his mound masterpiece, Calderon rang up 4 strikeouts and issued 3 walks.
