Shorebirds Reynolds No-Hits Bees Saturday, September 5th , 2048 Is it better to be lucky or good? After leading the Delmarva Shorebirds to victory, 3-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Burlington Bees, Wes Reynolds didn't have the answer. "I don't know," Reynolds said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both." On his big day at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, Reynolds fanned 8 and had 1 walk. And it seemed that when the Bees managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender. "That's how you get a no-hitter," Reynolds said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck." This season-to-date, Reynolds has fashioned a 9-9 mark and 2.28 ERA in 138 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .231 against him and he has logged 125 strikeouts. |
