Melendez Collects Cycle Friday, July 16th , 2049 Portland catcher Alex Melendez had a field day at Prince George's Stadium, battering Bowie pitchers and hitting for the cycle. Melendez sparked the Sea Dogs to a 19-2 triumph over the Baysox by going 5-for-6 with 3 runs batted in and scoring 3 runs. "I was seeing the ball great today," Melendez said. "I'm glad it translated into results on the field." Alex Melendez singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Turley in the 9th. This year Melendez is hitting .281 with 6 home runs. |
