Player of the Week: Jones of the Redbirds Monday, September 13th , 2049 McGwire Jones is respected by most Memphis Redbirds fans for his no-frills style of play. The 21-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the National League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .526 average (10-for-19) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. For the season Jones has produced 25 hits in 86 at-bats for a .291 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .419 clip. |
