Morante K's 10 En Route to 5-2 Angels Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Houston Astros and California Angels get after it.

California got a strong outing from Gus Morante as the Angels defeated the Houston Astros, 5-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. George Poirier was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

It was a remarkable effort from Morante, who is one of the team leaders. Morante recorded 10 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Morante, the 12th overall pick in the 2041 draft, moves to 2-2 on the year with 32 strikeouts.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said California manager Dakota Wise.

Houston drops to 13-15.
