River Cats Prevail, as Wildcard Series Goes to the Wire
|
A classic and dramatic Wildcard Series has wrapped up, with the Sacramento River Cats outlasting the El Paso Chihuahuas to advance to the Division Championship.
Sacramento won the final game by a score of 3-2 and took the series 2-1.
"We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Sacramento first baseman Brian Rogers, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP.
Rogers hit .500 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Division Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
