Beat Goes On for Brewers, Win 3-1 Over Reds
Ryan Sobocinski pitched well, but the Cincinnati Reds still lost the game, falling 3-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park. Mekonen Mahfudh, the winner, goes to 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts over 5 innings. Timóteo Metzener got the save, the 4th for him this season.

The Brewers got a big hit from center fielder Lewis Thorpe Jr.. In the top of the sixth, Thorpe Jr. smacked a 2-run home run off Cincinnati pitcher Ryan Sobocinski. It was his 5th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Brewers were ahead, 2-1.

"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Thorpe Jr.. "Obviously."

The Reds fall to 9-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
