					| A good performance from designated hitter Tom Butterbaugh helped the Oakland Athletics defeat the Texas Rangers, 6-3. Butterbaugh was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Athletics. The winner was Oakland reliever Elijah Everett, now 2-0. The loser was Ragnar Danielsson. Charlie Shook sewed up the save, his 4th. 
 Muneo Kawachi, the Oakland center fielder, contributed a run-scoring  single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-2, Athletics. For the game, Kawachi was 2-4 with a double.
 
 "We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Kawachi.
 
 Oakland is now 11-10.
