					| Pirates Get Past Atlanta for 2-1 Win |
					| Fans watched the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves fight to the finish.
Sam Richardson never let the Braves get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Pirates to a win, 2-1. Richardson got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Richardson allowed 1 run.

Pittsburgh used the clutch hitting of Brad Day to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pirates ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Tough win," said Richardson. "We had to earn it."

The Pirates raised their record to 12-7.
