 The Toronto Blue Jays bested the Seattle Mariners by a score of 9-1, with shortstop Nate Dean getting the main credit. On the day, Dean went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Blue Jays. Toronto pitcher Aaron Linkous got the win, upping his record to 1-0. David Anaya got the loss.
 
 Efrain Vargas, the Toronto first baseman, contributed a 2-run  single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 6-0, Blue Jays. For the game, Vargas went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
 
 "I like the roll we're on," said Toronto manager Max Meany.
 
 Toronto, now 15-3, has played well in the early going.
