Cardinals Pick Up 7-4 Win
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
St. Louis Cardinals starter Antonio Lacayo was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Chicago Cubs, 7-4. Lacayo, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Early in the game, left fielder Melvin Enriquez had a bases-clearing double for St. Louis. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Cardinals on top, 3-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Lacayo told the St. Louis Observer.
With the win, St. Louis goes to 4-3.
