Meesters Befuddles Tulsa in 9-0 San Jose Win
In an outstanding mound performance, San Jose Giants starter Patrick Meesters fired a complete-game shutout against the Tulsa Drillers at ONEOK Field today.

Meesters was the key to the Giants's 9-0 win. The 34-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and 1 walk he allowed.

"4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."

Meesters has gone 3-6 this season with an ERA of 4.39 and 53 strikeouts in 69.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .254 against him.
