					| Gorter Excels, Miami Blows Out Washington |  
					| The Miami Marlins trumped the Washington Nationals, 13-3, at Nationals Park. Miami center fielder Andre Gorter was terrific. He was 4-5 with a home run, 2 doubles,  and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Mike Torres got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 5. Picking up the save was Westin Silveira, his 1st. 
 Tony Stedman, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stedman contributed a run-scoring  single in the top of the third inning to put Miami up, 5-2.
 
 "The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Mike Scott said.
 
 Miami goes to 3-1.
