					| The Boston Red Sox got a superb performance from shortstop Alois Wollf. Still, it wasn't enough to beat California. The Angels won the game, 4-3. Wollf went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops the Red Sox to 3-1. 
 Jonathon Walton, the California first baseman, contributed a run-scoring  single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 4-3, Angels. For the game, Walton was 1 for 3.
 
 "We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Boston skipper Rob Diederichs.
