Right-hander Bryan Boykin mesmerized the Cleveland Guardians while leading the Kansas City Royals to a 3-0 victory. Boykin, now 11-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Joe Noonan notched his 31st save in 37 chances.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Adam Martin barreled up a fastball from Adrian Serratos. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Royals in front, 3-0.
