The New York Mets took Milwaukee pitcher Lewis Thorpe Jr.'s best shot and still were able to claim a win at Citi Field. The final score had New York getting past the Brewers, 2-0. Thorpe Jr. went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. The win has New York at 61-92.

New York won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. With two outs and Dale Ahernfeld on the mound for Milwaukee, center fielder Antonio Aranda hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Mets fans to their feet.

"We did just enough to win," Aranda said.
