					| The San Francisco Giants took San Diego pitcher Adam Thompson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at AT&T Park. The final score had San Francisco getting past the Padres, 6-5. Thompson went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 8. Filip Nebylitsin closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 7th save of the year. The victory gives San Francisco a record of 84-65. 
 San Francisco took a 6-5 lead on Bill Dooms's 15th home run of the season. The 3-run  home run came off San Diego pitcher Jim Turan in the bottom of the eighth.
 
 "Our guys are never satisfied," said San Francisco manager Rusty Longsword.
