The 3-2 Boston win over Houston was due in large part to Jose Diaz. The Red Sox left fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Boston reliever Jon Mercado picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Lance Crumpton took the loss. The victory gives Boston a record of 81-64.
