					| The Washington Nationals got a superb performance from pitcher Danny Diaz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Los Angeles. The Dodgers won the game, 4-3. Diaz threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Los Angeles pitcher Geoff Mooney got the win. He's now 3-8. David Sly was tagged with the loss. The Dodgers raised their record to 53-88. 
 Los Angeles won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and David Sly on the mound for Washington, shortstop Clay Buchanan hit a dramatic solo  home run, bringing Dodgers fans to their feet.
 
 "You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Washington manager Mike Shore.
