The Oakland Athletics got a sterling performance from shortstop Quincy Bradford, but the Kansas City Royals still prevailed, 8-6. Bradford went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Royals have a winning streak of 4 games.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of Justin Rupert to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Royals on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In comments to the Kansas City News, Rupert insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
