					| The Washington Nationals topped the New York Mets by the score of 11-4, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Kirk Arp. Arp was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Nationals. The third-place Nationals improved to 57-73. 
 Having an impact for Washington was Tommy Baird. In the top of the sixth inning, the 36-year old center fielder  had a run-scoring  sacrifice fly to make the score 6-4, Nationals.
