					| Red Sox Lose to Tigers, 7-2 |
					| The Detroit Tigers got a stellar performance from pitcher Bobby Jones, who handcuffed the Boston offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Comerica Park. Jones went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-6. With the win, the Tigers have a record of 56-67.
Victor Quinones dealt the Red Sox a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Detroit leading 1-0, Quinones, who finished 4th in the AL in hits with 169 in 2047, hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Detroit manager Jeff Martin.
