					| Stirnweiss Leads Pittsburgh to 4-1 Win |
					| Pittsburgh Pirates starter Stan Stirnweiss turned in a top-notch performance against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. The result was a win for the Pirates, 4-1. Jeremy Kennie earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 25th of the year. Pittsburgh, at 70-48, is 16 games up in the National League Central Division.
Stirnweiss was effective for Pittsburgh, seldom allowing the Giants to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 115 pitches over 8 innings. He limited San Francisco to just 1 run on 4 hits.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Stirnweiss said.
