					| Nationals Trounce Mets, 10-3 |
					| Washington catcher Emmanuel Gaskin played a vital role in his team's 10-3 triumph over New York. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Washington. Kerry Baty, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-12. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Washington has 3 straight wins, New York 4 straight losses.
The Nationals got a big hit from center fielder Tommy Baird. In the bottom of the sixth, Baird pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 10th double of the season put the Nationals ahead, 7-1.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Gaskin told the Washington Chronicle.
