					| The California Angels stymied the Oakland Athletics, 6-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Rusty Ney had a good day at the plate. He went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for California. Harambe Vick got the win, improving to 13-2. He held the Athletics to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. California is now 59-47, 9 games up in the American League West Division. 
 Alain Delhaye, who finished 4th in the AL in triples with 12 in 2043, aided the California cause with a run-scoring  walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk.
 
 "Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ney told the California Times.
