Danville third baseman Chad Starnes had a big day at Philadelphia Phillies Complex today against the Philadelphia (APP) Phillies. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Braves to a 19-4 triumph over Philadelphia (APP).

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Starnes said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Chad Starnes hit a two-run home run off Robert Mccabe in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Takuzo Sato in the 9th.

In his season totals Starnes has 20 home runs and a .178 batting average.
