					| Tigers Edge Past Athletics, 9-8 |
					| Despite a great performance by Oakland shortstop Quincy Bradford, the Detroit Tigers defeated the Athletics by the score of 9-8 at O.co Coliseum. Bradford went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Detroit reliever Aaron Vallejo was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Charlie Shook took the loss. Luis Brown earned the save for Detroit, his 20th of the year.
Detroit used the timely hitting of Andres Leon to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We take it day by day here," said Leon, "and today was a good one for us."

Detroit's record now stands at 43-54, placing them third in the American League Central Division.
