					| Pittsburgh Pirates starter Stan Stirnweiss pitched a strong game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park, leading the Pirates to victory, 8-3. Stirnweiss went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 11. His record improves to 8-9.  Pittsburgh now has a 3-game win streak. 
 Pittsburgh relied on the hitting of David Contreras to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run  home run in the top of the first inning to put the Pirates on top, 3-0. For the game, Contreras had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
 
 "I got in a good groove," said Stirnweiss. "I was getting some swings and misses."
