					| The California Angels bested the Cleveland Guardians, 5-3, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Rusty Ney was one of the standouts. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was California reliever Steve Cooper, now 2-3. The loser was Risto Pandev. The win elevated the Angels to 57-42. 
 The Angels got a big at-bat from first baseman Jonathon Walton. For the game, Walton was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run  double. His 22nd double of the season gave California a 2-0 lead.
 
 "It feels good to get this one," Ney told the California Times.
