5 times is the charm -- at least for Joe Thomas.

The Windy City ThunderBolts second baseman tore up the Chester Pirates to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Chester Ballpark today. The offensive onslaught from Thomas powered the ThunderBolts to a 15-6 win.

"Thomas was a tough out today," Chester manager Chris Peterson said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

Joe Thomas hit a two-run home run off Shi-yu Man in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Shi-yu Man in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Yong-taek Hoang in the 9th.

Currently Thomas is batting .204 with 20 home runs and 49 RBIs.
