					| San Diego Draws First Blood in World Series With 3-0 Win |
					| Larry Tuckfard and the San Diego Padres opened the World Series in brilliant fashion today, traveling to Chicago and shutting out the host White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field 3-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Tuckfard, the Padres left-hander, threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball.
San Diego relied on the hitting of Kaeo Zirpoli to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Padres on top, 2-0. For the game, Zirpoli had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"It's always fun to see the other guys getting frustrated, but the series isn't over and we've got to make sure to keep them on their heels," San Diego manager Robert Yoka said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
