					| Red Sox Bridle Rangers, 3-2 |
					| Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Boston Red Sox got the win.
The Boston Red Sox had to overcome a fine performance from Texas pitcher Bas Kooy to grab a 3-2 win at Fenway Park. Kooy allowed 2 runs over 6 innings. Boston reliever Jon Mercado picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Kyle Curve was saddled with the loss. Guadalupe Vasguez converted his 25th save in 26 tries.

Had Nick Esteves not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Esteves hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Sox.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Boston skipper Rob Diederichs.

Boston has an impressive 57-25 record.
