It's not often a losing player is named MVP of a series, but that's the situation Chiel Palstermans found himself in tonight, as the Cincinnati Reds beat his Pittsburgh Pirates to advance to the Division Series.

Cincinnati won the final game by a score of 5-4 at PNC Park and took the series 2-0.

Despite his strong performance, Palstermans was not taking many positives away from the series.

"I'm glad I played well, sure, but what good does it do us now?"

The Cincinnati Reds will play against the Atlanta Braves in the next round. Atlanta had a bye in the Wildcard Series. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
