Jones Perfect Against Eugene
Fans at PK Park today were the lucky witnesses to a feat so rare, so spectacular, that it is certain to go down in the annals of baseball history. Salem-Keizer Volcanoes starter pitched nine unblemished innings for a perfect game against the Eugene Emeralds.

The Salem-Keizer hurler struck out 17 and walked none while making history, defeating Eugene 14-0. He sat down 27 batters in order.

After a game like that, Jones would have been forgiven for going a little wild, but the 30-year-old was the picture of calm as he sat with reporters after the game.

"I'm thrilled," he said. "This is a dream come true."

This season in 24 starts Davion Jones has a record of 11-5 with 173 strikeouts in 131.2 innings and a 2.46 ERA.
