					| Another day, another victory for the red-hot Atlanta Braves. 
 The Atlanta Braves beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-1. Atlanta pitcher and Winnipeg, Canada, native Matthew Spurrell led the way. Spurrell went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 7-3.
 
 The Braves got a big at-bat from third baseman Kevin Howard. For the game, Howard was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run  home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead.
 
 Howard told a Atlanta Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
 
 The victory gives Atlanta a record of 50-16.
